Parent Coffee Talk- Thursday, May 26th
Please join us for our final Parent Coffee Talk of the year from 9:30-11:00 am on Thursday, May 26th in the Daniel Ninth Library.

With summer approaching, student supervision can lessen putting our students more at risk.  George Lynch, CEO of Traffic911, will be here to share with us the risks and cultural drivers of minor sex trafficking.  They will also conduct a voluntary Student Seminar during I-55 following our Parent Coffee Talk.

Traffic911 is an organization that focuses on prevention, identification, and the empowerment of victims of minor sex trafficking throughout Texas, Arkansas, Arizona, and Florida. They conduct educator, parent, and student training sessions to help protect our youth from trafficking.

Breakfast and coffee will be provided. We hope you'll join us for this very informative presentation.  Unfortunately, one of the most heavily trafficked locations in the Metroplex is right in our backyard. Let's keep our students safe this summer!

Robotics Team
Congratulations to both of our robotics teams who have been invited to the UIL robotics championship in Austin at the end of July. This is a very exciting event and the students are looking forward to it!

Schedule Changes
Schedule Changes for Incoming Freshmen 2016-17
After much consideration, administration has made the decision to allow students to take on-level World History as a freshman, rather than AP Human Geography or on-level World Geography. Although World Geography is NOT a graduation requirement, by taking this course students are:
·         Securing a Multidisciplinary endorsement
·         Ensuring the option to attend a four year university immediately after high school
·         Earning an additional 15% weight towards their GPA  by taking AP Human Geography

Letters are being mailed home this week outlining course selections for 2016-17.  Please review your selections.  If you choose to enroll in World History as a freshman, rather than World Geography or have any other schedule change request, please complete the following Google Form. http://goo.gl/forms/sJ04LA3wQY
