The setting is 1930’s Hollywood. Jack Warner, head of production, is forced to produce Midnight Summer’s Night Dream because his gorgeous girlfriend/actress demands a “prestige” picture. Enter Shakespeare’s Puck and Oberon, the fairies of the play. They find themselves not in Athens, but on a Hollywood set. After discovering the wonders of such modern delights as Coca-Cola and waffles, they are seduced by the beautiful starlettes and extravagant lifestyle, not to mention the money and celebrity that comes from something called “movies.” Antics ensue, including those magic flowers, mistaken love potions and all the lunacy of Shakespeare’s original play.
Show dates: Oct 5th & 7th @7pm; Oct 8th @2pm.
Email email@example.com to reserve tickets in advance.
Did your student forget to wear their best for picture day? Was your student absent on September 13th? Picture Retake Day is Monday, October 23rd in the High School Auditorium Foyer.
